Hardware: Parts manufactured from steel or non-ferrous metals. Processing methods include cold/hot stamping, extrusion, rolling, welding, machining, and other techniques; the definition is quite broad.

Stamped parts: These are the most common products in hardware manufacturing. They are formed by using a press to apply force to sheet materials-such as steel or non-ferrous metals-against a die at room temperature, shaping them into a specific design.

Applications include electronic components, automotive parts, decorative materials, and more. The term "stamped parts" generally refers to cold-stamped components. For example, to turn an iron sheet into a fast-food tray, one must first design a die with a working surface shaped like the tray; pressing the iron sheet against this die transforms it into the desired tray. This process-directly stamping the hardware material using a die-is known as cold stamping.
